What is Solar System ??

I think it is something like a family which consists of the Earth and the other planets . I think I am partially right, Let's learn in detail.

The Solar System is the gravitationally bound system of the Sun and the objects that orbit it, either directly or indirectly ,that is the heavenly bodies that revolve around the sun. The Solar System is made up of our Star, called the Sun ,and Everything that travels , or orbits around it .

This includes the 8 planets – That is Mercury , Venus , Earth , Mars , Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and their Moons. Dwarf planets , Asteroids , Comets and smaller bits of rocks and dust are too found here . Our Solar System is one of many Solar Systems in the Universe .

The Scientists say that our Solar system began to form around 4.6 billion years ago. Our Solar System is so big that if the Sun was in the size of a Basketball the Earth will be in the size of a Sesame seed!

There are Two main belts in our Solar System – the Asteroid Belt and the Kuiper Belt .There is no Gravity (also called as zero gravity) in the Space such that Astronauts Float in their Spacecrafts- or Outside, on a space walk. Even Heavy objects move around easily here(Float in space)! Astronauts can move a 100 pound object easily by just pushing it with their finger!
